We had a couple of hours to kill before our flights back home, and several of our Lyft drivers had mentioned that the Portland Japanese Garden had recently been redone and were really beautiful, so we decided to spend the afternoon there. We were planning on going out for dinner, but day drinking is hard, so we ended up relaxing at our Airbnb and ordering pizza from Eat Pizza.Ī few other dinner recs that were shared with me are Por Que Nofor great Mexican food, Pok Pok for Thai (expect long lines but I hear it’s well worth the wait, or they also deliver through Caviar!), and Little Bird Bistro for a classic French bistro. Dinner It’s about a 50-minute drive from Portland, so totally doable as a day trip and basically like going from SF to Napa for the day. Scrap the breweries and head to Willamette Valley for a day of wine tasting.

If your bachelorette in Portland isn’t a beer drinker (like me!) no worries! Wine Tour They also have wine, which makes me happy since I’m not personally a beer drinker. Deschutes is a popular one and they have great snacks for munching on while drinking like beer nuts and garlic fries.ġ0 Barrel is another good one because it has a rooftop bar and some seriously naughty food like steak and gorgonzola nachos (half chips and fries). There are seriously SO many breweries in Portland. I wouldn’t go out of your way for it but if you happen to stroll by, might as well stop in. When we happened to walk by it we popped in to check it out. Several people told us we needed to check out this giant bookstore since it’s the largest independently owned bookstore in the world. Both Barista and Black Rock have multiple locations in Portland and great coffee. Coffee at Barista or Black RockĪt this point I needed a little coffee pick me up.

They were really fun to try and I think the pineapple was my favorite. This hard cider taphouse had flights of all different types of yummy and interesting ciders.
